Students gain Fire and Rescue Service Award!

Recently, a group of High Tunstall students took part in a course that enabled them to gain a BTEC Award in the Fire and Rescue Service.

The group were introduced to operational equipment and it was explained to them what this was used for.  The students were then set a number of challenges throughout the course which required them to work as part of a team to reach the aims and objectives required for them to gain the qualification.

Each individual also took part in a number of practical sessions, alongside them researching for, preparing and presenting a presentation on the effects of anti-social behaviour on the local community.

The group worked remarkably well with each other and grew with confidence throughout the course, enabling them to put together a comprehensive demonstration of operational skills to show to the parents, carers, teachers and brigade personnel that attended the final pass out parade!
